Welcome to Spectrum WASP (We Are Special People)!
We are a registered charity (number: 1146664) formed to support Parents and Carers with Children/Young People on the autistic spectrum with Disabilities, Special and Additional Needs from ages 5 to 18 years. We provide a safe and welcoming space where Children/Young People can enjoy a wide range of activities and form new friendships.
There really is something for everyone and we are very proud to provide fully inclusive, warm and friendly atmosphere. Everyone is treated with respect and as an individual with a tailored plan to meet their personal needs. Both you and your Children/Young People are fully looked after and supported and there aren’t any activities or outings that we won’t do - we take great care of your Children/Young People and treat them like any other.
We have a monthly programme that’s full of activities for everyone to enjoy, including Parents/Carers’ meetings, coffee mornings, residential short breaks away, family days out, creative workshops, friendship groups, go karting, quad biking, swimming, gymnastics and more. You can take part in our talent show, enjoy a trip to the panto and have fun at our Christmas party. Not only that, but siblings and extended family are welcome too so no-one feels left out.
There’s always something going on and plenty to get involved with and we’d love to have you join us!

Come along to our meetings
Throughout the month we have coffee mornings and regular Parents/Carers evening meetings. (Term Time only – See Calendar for details) Come along and find out what we’re all about!
Join in with our activities
We run a wide range of activities, family day trips out and residential breaks away. We also provide workshops and training sessions for Parent/Carers throughout the year.

Weekly Football Sessions
Open to all registered families for Children/Young People 9-18yrs.
Football INDOORS in the Main Sports Hall @ Jo Whit – Meeting 5:15pm to start prompt 5:25-6:25pm
Tuesdays 14th April – 21st May 2026.
Moving OUTDOORS from 5th May 2026 – 19th May 2026- Meeting 6-7pm
Music Sessions
For ALL Children/Young People...age 9-18yrs
Enjoy & Learn that NEW Instrument, from Guitar, Drum Kit, Keyboards, and Computers, Make your own Sounds/Music, Record, Soundtrack, Decks, Recording Studio, Singing, Writing your Own Music. @ The Old Library, Leeming St, Mansfield , NG18 1NG, (Next to The Palace Theatre)

Fundraiser Alert
We have some amazing opportunities coming up for us to Fundraise which will help sustain our activity program at Spectrum WASP.
We are looking for support from our Parents/Carers, Children/Young People and Siblings to attend these fundraisers alongside Sue/Jeni/Jess/Management Committee to ensure we continue to have as many successful events as possible.
