Summer Fun

Since March we have had to work a little differently here at Spectrum Wasp to what we are used to due to Covid-19. But this hasn't stopped us keeping in touch with our families and having lots of fun and enjoying new challenges. We have enjoy actives such as our Sunshine/Happiness Challenge with Growing & Nurturing Sunflowers… Our Pizza DIY Challenge where you cooked freshly made Pizza’s yourselves... The Great Spectrum WASP ‘Bake Off’... Following a recipe with Cakes/Cupcakes and delicious Cookies… Healthy eating Fruit Basket/Parcels for Fruit Salads/Smoothies...The Great British Sewing Bee…in which you have learnt to cut out/stuff/sew and put together your Character Key Tags. We also enjoyed a couple of Live Family Quizzes. These are just some of the wonderful activities that we have all been doing together at Home, Indoors & Outdoors in the Garden or out on your Daily Walks/Exercise. But it doesn't stop there, we have some amazing activities planned throughout August for our Spectrum Wasp Families. See our latest summer newsletter to find out more...

welcome to spectrum wasp

Welcome to Spectrum WASP (We Are Special People)!

We are a registered charity (number: 1146664) formed to support Parents and Carers with Children/Young People on the autistic spectrum with Disabilities, Special and Additional Needs from ages 5 to 18 years. We provide a safe and welcoming space where Children/Young People can enjoy a wide range of activities and form new friendships.

There really is something for everyone and we are very proud to provide fully inclusive, warm and friendly atmosphere. Everyone is treated with respect and as an individual with a tailored plan to meet their personal needs. Both you and your Children/Young People are fully looked after and supported and there aren’t any activities or outings that we won’t do - we take great care of your Children/Young People and treat them like any other.

We have a monthly programme that’s full of activities for everyone to enjoy, including Parents/Carers’ meetings, coffee mornings, residential short breaks away, family days out, creative workshops, friendship groups, go karting, quad biking, swimming, gymnastics and more. You can take part in our talent show, enjoy a trip to the panto and have fun at our Christmas party. Not only that, but siblings and extended family are welcome too so no-one feels left out.

There’s always something going on and plenty to get involved with and we’d love to have you join us!

Why not explore our information on activities for Children/Young people, along with how Parents/Carers can benefit from support from people who understand. If you would like to support us by volunteering or donating, check out our Become a Volunteer and Fund Our Cause pages!
